Alexander Siddig joins ‘Foundation’ season 3 as a series regular

Apple TV+ announced today, via Deadline, that Alexander Siddig will be a new series regular for Foundation season 3. This is the project Sid was filming in Europe before the SAG-AFTRA strike interrupted production.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s book trilogy, Foundation, starring Jared Harris and Lee Pace, chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it. The series hails from showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer and Skydance Television.

Sid will play Dr. Ebling Mis, a self-taught psychohistorian and diehard fan of Hari Seldon (Harris). This will be the second character Sid plays in Foundation; he had a cameo in the series premiere as a prosecutor. Fans of the book series might recognize an Easter egg there.

Season 2 is streaming now on Apple TV+. Season 3 resumes production after the holidays.
