Join us at D&I Con

Will you be in Philadelphia for D&I Con May 5-7th? So will Alexander Siddig and Sid City! We will host a Sid City Social Club meeting as part of D&I Con (admission to D&I Con is required to attend in person). We’re working out the details for Zoom/livestream so those who aren’t in Philly can be part of the fun.

Read on for more information about what the Sid City Social Club has planned in Philly!

The full schedule for D&I Con can be found here

Saturday, May 6

Join Sid and cast mates Terry Farrell, J.G. Hertzler, Penny Johnson Jerald, Robert O’Reilly, and Nana Visitor for what will surely be a laugh-filled panel about their time on DS9 and the show’s long-term impact.

Saturday, May 6

6:00-7:00 PM

PACC, Terrace Ballroom

Can you best Bashir at darts? Maybe not, but you can probably beat Sid. The two people who advance to the championship round will compete against Sid and A Surprise Celebrity Guest for bragging rights and some cool swag. Separate ticket required (SOLD OUT).

Saturday, May 6

9:00 PM-12:00 AM

PMC, Ballroom

The gala includes a buffet dinner, cash bar, dancing, and more! A separate ticket is required.

Sunday, May 7

2:00-3:45 PM

PACC, Away Mission Room 1

Join us for a casual, “mix and mingle” event to close out the convention. This will be a combination of informal hanging out and Sid on the couch chatting with some of the other VIPs. We are working on livestreaming for those who can’t join us in person.

NOTE: This is part of D&I Con. You will need a ticket for Sunday’s convention to attend.

EPIC has autographs and photo ops available to purchase HERE.

Note that if you purchase a photo op, then Sid will sign the picture for free. This only applies to the professional photo ops (not selfies) and only to Sid (not anyone else in the group photos). Just bring the picture to his table and he’ll autograph it.

Sid City Social Club Booth

We will have a booth set up in the convention center (location TBA) which is intended to be a place to meet up with your fellow Sidizens as well as participate in some fun activities and pick up some merch.

Here’s what we have planned so far:

• Gathering place for Sidizens

• Information about Sid City and the SCSC

• Collection point for The PMA Bike Ride donations (see “Sid City Gives Back” in the righthand column)

• SCSC Art Project

• SCSC Merch

• Silent Auction – details TBA

Silent Auction

Mel has so much Star Trek stuff that’s accumulated over the past 25 years. The SCSC Shadow Council Steering Committee (aka Mel’s advisory committee) suggested a silent auction in Philadelphia to find items good homes. A selection of vintage Star Trek memorabilia will be part of the daily silent auction. More info to come!

SID CITY GIVES BACK

Sidsters are a generous bunch, and we know leaving somewhere in better shape than we found it is just good manners. With that in mind, we’re partnering with The PMA Bike Ride to collect items for distribution to the homeless population of Philadelphia.

The PMA Bike Ride (PMA = Positive Mental Attitude) is a non-profit organization that started with a group of people riding (or walking) through the streets of Philadelphia handing out “pizza and positivity” to the homeless population. They have since expanded their efforts into collecting supplies and creating care packages for people living on the street.

We will be collecting items for care packages at the Sid City Social Club booth throughout the D&I Con weekend. Zack M. is spearheading the effort and will secure items in his hotel room at the end of each day. After the con, he will take everything collected to The PMA Bike Ride headquarters.

What to Donate

PMA Bike Ride leader Joe put together a list for us with items needed for the care packages.

• Meat-based snack foods such as beef jerky, cooked tuna or chicken in easy-open pouches or snap-top cans
