News Round Up: DS9 Comics, Star Trek Cruise, 21 Bridges
It’s time for another Alexander Siddig news update!
Star Trek Cruise V
I’ve confirmed with Siddig that he’ll board Star Trek: The Cruise V departing from Miami, FL, in March 2021. The 7-day voyage aboard the Explorer of The Seas, a Voyager Class ship, includes one-of-a-kind nightly shows in the Main Theater; parties and panels in small and intimate venues; and daily screenings, interactive games, and competitions. With more than a dozen bars, restaurants, clubs, lounges, a dazzling casino, tranquil spa, and expansive pool deck, this ship is a destination of its own.
Tickets for Star Trek: The Cruise V are on sale now.
DS9 Comic Book Series
IDW Publishing announced a new, four-part Star Trek: Deep Space Nine comic book series coming in April. Titled Too Long a Sacrifice, the new series marks the first Deep Space Nine title published in over a decade. Debuting its first issue in April 2020, this long-awaited DS9 storyline shines the spotlight on Constable Odo, the fan-favorite shapeshifter brought to life by the late (and greatly missed) actor René Auberjonois.
Written by longtime Star Trek scribes David Tipton and Scott Tipton and illustrated by Greg Scott (Gotham Central), the series is set during the Dominion War.
“Set during the most difficult hours of the Dominion War, Too Long a Sacrifice shows the station during trying times: a series of mysterious and seemingly unsolvable terrorist attacks just as the war has everyone strained to the breaking point,” says David Tipton. “We’ll get to see the darker side of life on the station as Odo leads the investigation, with increasingly desperate conditions forcing him and others to deal with new and unexpected allies and to use unusual tactics in their efforts to stop the attacks.”
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine — Too Long a Sacrifice #1 will be available with multiple cover variants for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover A by Ricardo Drumond, a Photo Edition for Cover B, and two Retailer Incentive editions by J.K. Woodward.

21 Bridges on DVD/Blu-ray/Digital
Now available on DVD/Blu-ray and digital, 21 Bridges follows an embattled NYPD detective (Boseman), who is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him. When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping Manhattan as the authorities close all 21 bridges to prevent any entry or exit from the iconic island.
