Sid To Appear in 4.3.2.1 and Strike Back

How did Alexander Siddig spend his birthday? Filming the new mini-series Strike Back with Richard Armitage and Andrew Lincoln in South Africa. Sid is playing Sharq and is excited to be working with Edward Hall, “a director who is not only terrific but a childhood friend,” he says.

The story itself is one of deception, redemption and revenge, all played out in the interlinked lives of two former soldiers – Major Hugh Collinson and discharged veteran John Porter. Their paths last crossed seven years ago. Now, amidst a new hostage crisis in the Middle East, their lives are about to collide again. Based on the novel by Chris Ryan, Strike Back is set to air on Sky 1 in the UK during Spring 2010.

Prior to leaving for South Africa, Sid filmed a cameo for the movie 4.3.2.1, a crime thriller filming in London starring Emma Roberts and Mandy Patinkin. Also among the cast is Michelle Ryan who played Nimueh in the ITV series Merlin, which Sid guest starred in as well. 4.3.2.1 is the story of three days in the lives of four girls who are unknowingly connected by a major diamond robbery. It’s due for release some time in 2010.
