MAY IN THE SUMMER: Alexander Co-Stars in Romantic Comedy from Cherien Dabis

We’re pleased to share that Alexander Siddig has yet another new project heading to screens! He co-stars in the new romantic comedy, May in the Summer, by writer/director Cherien Dabis ([easyazon-link asin=”B002T921C0″]Amreeka[/easyazon-link]) who also stars in the film.

May in the Summer is the story of three Arab-American sisters and their strong-willed, single mom as they prepare for a wedding in Jordan. The sisters are played by Cherien Dabis, Alia Shawkat, and Nadine Malouf with Hiam Abbas as their mother. Sid plays, Ziad, the bridegroom, and said it was “great fun” to film this “lovely script” by Dabis.

The film is currently in post-production and does not yet have a release date, but it sounds like the kind of independent film that would do well on the festival circuit next year. Stay tuned for further details! In the meantime, here are some lovely photos from the movie’s Facebook page, by photographer¬†Thierry Van Biesen.

  1. Out of curiousity; is this the first time we see Siddig “get married” on screen. Sounds a fun project.

  2. Sid seems to do well in comedies (heck, he’s great in everything–let’s face it), but I would definitely love to see him in a romantic comedy that is not the usual Hollywood faire…Can hardly wait for the DVD!

  3. Pothos, Sid got ‘married’ to Nadia, Miral’s mother in Miral.

  4. Oh yes thank you for the reminder.
