The annual SidCity.net fundraiser, benefiting The Lost Boys College Fund, begins November 5, 2008, on eBay.com. Items up for bid include a 10-minute phone call with actor Alexander Siddig, signed items from Doomsday, Syriana, 24, Star Trek and more.

SidCity.net, the official fansite for Alexander Siddig, hosts an annual fundraiser to raise money for one of Siddig’s chosen charities. The 2008 recipient is The Lost Boys College Fund, an organization that sponsors Sudanese refugees who come to the United States to attend college. The money raised from this fundraiser will make a significant impact in the lives of these refugees by helping with tuition and living expenses as they pursue a college degree.

If you don't already have an account at eBay, now is the time to sign up! Keep watching our About Me page for the items, going live November 5th!

I've just been to ebay and have done some aggressive bidding. I doubt sincerely that I will win but I will make some money for the fundraiser by raising the stakes. I am currently in the lead but it won't last.

I Totally agree as long as we keep raising the stakes we all will win by giving to a great cause.

It is a good cause and rather fun stirring it up. I would very much love to win the call and have the opportunity to speak with Sid. I doubt, however, given the zeal of the bidders, this will become a reality. Faced with that outcome, and limited funds. I will do my best to help this fundraiser be the best it can be.

Alas, the bidding grows ever higher, and my funds do not. Some lucky person is going to get that call but I think it will not be me.

I'm kinda surprised by how much some of that stuff is going for, or rather not going for. I remember a time when I couldn't touch the DS9 script covers and baby pages financially. I guess we've had our fill.

Well I'm going to watch the FBTS script cover and if it stays pretty low, I'll bid on it.

Ku.

I actually think we live in a world of canny bidders and I suspect that the auction will go potty during the last hour. I have bought many an item with seconds to go and I suspect that bidders will pick up items in the same manner.

The two items I would have really liked are way out of my price range but there you go.

Best Wishes.

Jude.

I fully expect these auctions to start going up quickly in the final hour or so. It's just the nature of eBay. And I'm pretty sure Tammy is one of the people waiting to pounce. wink.gif

I thought that could be the case too... but I'm still kind of wary given the current state of things.

And oh yeah... I wasn't gonna mention any names, but I'm sure Tammy has her eye on a few things.

The price is rising fast on the big tag item, and I think the spirits were sending me a message last night. I could not get into my ebay account with my long standing password no matter what I tried. It was all very interesting. The problem is fixed now but my bidding has come to a halt. It was a nice dream.

Good luck to all of you smile.gif Someone's gonna be very very happy in about 30 hours time.

It won't me, I'm on a strict "no money" spending month, but as the auctions are for a good cause, I'll give it a try on some of the other items. There might be an early Xmas pressie in for me santa.gif

Yes she is the lead bidder and it looks good. I put up a good fight but just can't go any higher.

Debbie, if you'd like to make a donation outside of the auction, you can Paypal it to mel@sidcity.net.
