Hacked! By a moron... Options

A nasty surprise awaited those who logged onto SCF earlier today - my and Chas's accounts were hacked, then the hacker posted some x-rated photos front and center. Fortunately, Liz quickly answered my plea and was able to get the board offline and get me back into the Admin Control Panel. Chas was on the scene minutes later. All should be back to normal now.

And the hacker? He/She left a trail a mile wide. An abuse report has already been filed with his/her ISP.

What a moron. One wonders what makes people like this function. One of my LiveJounals fell prey to someone spamming porn over the weekend. It was one that my 13 year old helps me with at times, but fortunately he was not, when I went to see who had "friended" me. There were comments to the person who owned the journal, but no one had filed a complaint with LJ??? I quickly did this and they are now gone. Still my experience was not half as bad as yours as I was not hacked. I'm glad you were able to get things straightend out quickly. What a stressful morning you had and here's to a much better day.
