Did anyone else get the google alert showing a 1992 advert for the Big Battalions.

Yep! It's a brief glimpse of Sid/Big Battalions in a long series of commercials on the UK's Channel 4 in 1992. You'll have to sit through about 3 minutes of other ads first, but here's the vid:

Blink and you might miss him. The "Big Battalions" ad starts at 4:42.

How old is Sid here? He looks like a teenager. Is this the youngest picture we have of him?

The picture is worth enduring 4 Minutes of advertisement.
Well, as the add is from 1992, he can't be older than 27. And he is not looking like a teenager, come on! He looks great, I wish he had that facial hair when he played Julian Bashir: I would have paid much more attention to him ;-) |

Sid always looks younger than he actually is, I think.
If I'm not mistaken someone (I believe it was TOC) once posted a screen capture of Sid in "Sammy and Rosie Get Laid" where he should be a couple of years younger. But I don't know where the picture is right now. |

There's not really any information out there about that project, so a picture would be cool to see.

I guess Sid did "A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia" a couple years before he did "The Big Battalions." But I still think this is the youngest-LOOKING picture I've seen of him. Maybe his expression has something to do with it.
******************************************************************* I found "The Big Battalions Main Theme" on YouTube. I tried to bring it here, but I couldn't get it to do right, for some reason. So if you want to listen to it, you'll have to go to YouTube. Or maybe one of you can bring it here. There isn't a video, just a dark screen with the music playing. It's pretty music. I thought Sid did Big Battalions before Lawrence After Arabia. LAA just got released first.
He'd made a couple comments on that at a convention some years ago... |

Mel if these pictures break the forum rules feel free to delete them.
Here are two images from Sammy and Rosie and are possibly the earliest images we have of Siddig on screen. ![]()
