I've done some screencaps from the first episode, the Sid only ones can be found here:
http://s231.photobucket.com/albums/ee83/rc.../Episode%20One/ There are 100ish in there, here's a few tempters. ![]() Feel free to use them as you wish for graphics, website, newsletter, whatever! Will put my very brief episode, well Sid/Philip, thoughts in spoilers just to be safe! Philip's going to be a very interesting character indeed! He was only in 4 scenes in this first episode but definately made his mark. Loved Connor's description of him: "He's like a living legend! If all of the fantastic folk were rolled into one, he'd kind of look like this! Only not be a super hero, more of a science nerd." This post has been edited by flip: Jan 2 2011, 03:18 PM |

I thought Siddig was far and away the best thing in the first episode. Love how you cannot read the character just yet.

QUOTE Feel free to use them as you wish for graphics, website, newsletter, whatever! Thank you! The next issue will be the March one so we should have LOTS of Primeval by then. I was sorry the January issue didn't reach Europe in time to give people advance notice of the premiere if they weren't on line, but Pothos assures me the show was heavily promoted in the UK and everyone should have known about it whether they had computer access or not. The show is just as good as it was before, wait, make that better cause Sid's on it! (LOL)
I thought what they did to Abby and Connor was cold. Lester's reason's for that are clear: he doesn't want to lose anyone else he cares about. Burton's however are not (maybe he's trying for world domination?) I do admit I enjoyed the segments of the show without Sid (had I known about this show prior, I might have watched it anyway). I'm anxious to see what they do next! P.S. We don't get ep. 2 til Saturday This post has been edited by mheasley: Jan 3 2011, 02:56 AM -------------------- Meghan

Thank you for the pictures, Flip!
When you watch them as a slideshow, frame by frame, it's almost like getting to watch the actual scenes. Maybe better in some ways because with the series of still pictures there's more time to look at the expressions on Sid's face.... Do you think Sid has dimples? In the credits it says "with Alexander Siddig". Mel said that "with" is a higher honor than "starring". So Yay! Peridot |

Thanks for the caps, Flip! A note about that description: it was "If all of the Fantastic FOUR were rolled into one..." In other words, Phillip Burton is awesome!

In other words, Phillip Burton is awesome! it's funny that you should mention "Fantastic 4" because in DS9's "Distant Voices" when JULIAN just had the little bit of gray at the temples, I thought he looked like Mr. Fantastic! Thanks for the screen-caps Flip.
Are you getting the two episodes a week in the US like we are in the UK?. Jude. -------------------- ![]() Humanity is first. We have to look after each other. I'm really enjoying the screen-caps. I turn on Pandora Radio while I'm watching the slideshow and it's like a music video. Neat.

Nice, I missed some of those expressions when I watched it on TV. However, did we need so many of Sid's um- behind
And something in the construction of that set, whether it be the lights, or the colors makes Sid's eyes change color, they're almost translucent. -------------------- Meghan

Nice, I missed some of those expressions when I watched it on TV. However, did we need so many of Sid's um- behind And something in the construction of that set, whether it be the lights, or the colors makes Sid's eyes change color, they're almost translucent. You can blame the capping software as it's done automatically In other news, overnight ratings for the first episode were 4.5million. |

Sounds pretty good to me
As for the tactless part, I'm guessing that's how the role was originally written and they changed it to suite Sid, based on what the scan says. Not that Julian was tactless -------------------- Meghan

the viewing figures for episode one probably aren't too bad considering it went out on NY day....am worried that episode two managed to lose another million viewers though. If S5 hadn't already been filmed it would have been unlikely to have been recommissioned with those figures. Be interesting to see how it fares this week, from the preview it looked a much more interesting episode!
Anyone know how the viewing figures have been in the US? |

QUOTE As for the tactless part, I'm guessing that's how the role was originally written If you don't think the word fits, you need to rewatch some of the early episodes. Remember the "frontier" remark that got Kira all worked up? Bashir might have been brilliant, but he was NOT tactful. It took real courage for the producers to make him unlikeable at the beginning so he'd have room to grow. Carol -------------------- "IN A WORLD FULL OF WONDERS, HUMANS INVENTED BOREDOM. AMAZING!"
