QUOTE 'Kingdom of Heaven: The Director’s Cut'! At the Arclight!
3/17/2006 Posted by Mr. Beaks Did you miss that extremely limited engagement of Kingdom of Heaven: The Director’s Cut at the Laemmle Fairfax last January? Would you like to see Ridley Scott’s Crusades epic restored to its intended 190 minute running time in one of the best theaters in Los Angeles? Well, we here at Collider.com are pleased to announce that, as our first ever screening event, we’ll be presenting Kingdom of Heaven: The Director’s Cut at the Arclight Cinemas on Tuesday, April 4th at 7:30 PM, and as a thank you for the unbelievable support we’ve received since going live last July, we’d like to invite some of our readers to join us and our very special guests Ridley Scott and William Monahan for what promises to be a great evening of film and discussion. This will be the only time to see this phenomenal version of Kingdom of Heaven – one of my top ten films of last year – on one of the best screens in Los Angeles, so if you’re a fan of Ridley Scott, or just a fan of cinema in general, I highly recommend that you do everything within your power to not miss this very special event. How do you do this? Simply send an email to my Collider cohort, Frosty, at frosty@collider.com before March 30th with “Kingdom of Heaven Screening†in the subject header and, in the body of the email, your name and the name of your guest if you’re bringing one, and he will randomly select who gets to attend. Please note this is not a first-come, first-serve deal; just make sure to email Frosty before March 30th, and you have as good a chance to attend as anyone else. Frosty will email the winners on March 31st, at which point we’ll post a follow-up article with additional information for those who did not receive tickets. Though we do have an extremely limited number of seats available, we will have a stand-by line that will open up at 7:15 PM. How does that work? Easy. Everyone selected to attend the screening must check-in before 7:15. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of tickets, which will then be passed along to the folks at the front of the stand-by line. It’s extremely important to note that, given the film’s 190 minute running time, we will be starting the film promptly at 7:30 PM. So, if you’re selected, please make sure you’re checked in before 7:15 PM. Otherwise, you’re out. By the way, these tickets are FREE. We’re not making a dime off of this screening. We’re just thrilled that 20th Century Fox has agreed to make a print of the film available for us to share with our friends and readers. So hurry up and fire off an email to Frosty, and maybe we’ll be seeing you on Tuesday, April 4th! |
